The Sensiplan Training Program: Your Path to Becoming a Sensiplan Consultant

The Sensiplan Training Program: Your Path to Becoming a Sensiplan Consultant

As a certified counselor, you will personally guide women and couples through the process of safely using the Sensiplan method.

Would you like to become a Sensiplan counselor? Then you’ve come to the right place. Through the Sensiplan training program, you’ll gain an in-depth understanding of the method and will then be able to teach it to others. Our studies consistently show that the confident use of natural family planning is shaped by instruction from our qualified counselors. Our standardized training program is the foundation for this.

How to Become a Sensiplan Counselor

Before the training begins, you should have already completed the Sensiplan course with a counselor and be generally familiar with the method. Once you have documented and evaluated three cycles, you can register for the training.
You’ll find all the details in the training guidelines.

The next training starts in November 2026 in Cologne.

9-12 months

The training period

  1. 1

    60h course

In this course, you will deepen your understanding of the menstrual cycle. You will develop the teaching skills needed to convey this knowledge and apply what you’ve learned in real-life counseling situations.

  2. 2

    Theory exam

The theoretical training concludes with a written exam. Here, you’ll demonstrate your mastery of physiology, psychology, and menstrual cycle knowledge.

  3. 3

    The practical

After passing the written exam, you’ll begin the practical training phase. You’ll introduce three women or couples to the Sensiplan method.

  4. 4

    Oral exam

In the oral exam, you will demonstrate that you have introduced your clients to the method and that the women and couples are able to use Sensiplan confidently and independently.

What happens after certification

What Happens After Certification

Once you’ve successfully completed your training, you’ll become a member of our network of consultants and begin working as an official Sensiplan consultant. As part of the network, you’ll benefit from professional development opportunities, access to subject matter experts, and the chance to exchange ideas with other consultants.

As a consultant in our network, we support you in being active and visible in your role. In addition to your consulting work in Sensiplan courses and individual consultations, there are also frequent opportunities to support the Sensiplan team on a fee-for-service basis; for example, at events, conducting online consultations for women and couples from our e-learning platform, or as a tutor in the training program.

Working as a Sensiplan counselor is a meaningful way to accompany people on their journey toward greater body awareness and self-determination. You work with a scientifically grounded, hormone-free method and support women and couples during key life phases such as contraception, planning for pregnancy, or after discontinuing hormonal contraception. At the same time, you deepen your own understanding of the menstrual cycle, strengthen communication and responsibility in relationships, and can flexibly integrate counseling—online or in person, part-time or full-time—into your life.

In a world full of myths and uncertainty surrounding the menstrual cycle, you act as a competent voice for education, self-determination, and trust.

If you want to combine in-depth knowledge, compassion, and real effectiveness, you can get started right away as a consultant in the Sensiplan network.

Sensiplan is knowledge that everyone should have. It’s wonderful that the training not only strengthens participants’ body awareness but also empowers new counselors to teach this scientifically grounded method of family planning and contraception.
